1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using SchoolOS ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

SchoolOS is a comprehensive cloud-based school management platform that provides tools for:

• Student and staff management
• Fee management and payment processing
• Attendance tracking and reporting
• Academic records and result management
• E-learning and assignment management
• Parent-teacher communication
• Financial operations and accounting
• And other educational administrative services

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1 Account Creation

Schools must register and create an account to use SchoolOS. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

3.2 User Types

The Platform supports multiple user roles including administrators, teachers, students, parents, bursars, nurses, and security staff. Each role has specific access permissions and responsibilities.

4. Subscription and Payment

4.1 Pricing Plans

SchoolOS offers Termly (₦180,000/term), Yearly (₦500,000/year), and Custom pricing plans. All prices are in Nigerian Naira and include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

4.2 Free Trial

We offer a 14-day free trial for new users. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial period, you must subscribe to a paid plan to continue using the service.

4.3 Payment Terms

• Payments are due at the beginning of each billing period
• Late payments may result in service suspension
• All fees are non-refundable unless required by law
• We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days notice

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful software
• Attempt unauthorized access to our systems
• Share account credentials with unauthorized parties
• Use the platform for fraudulent or illegal activities
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Scrape or collect data without permission

6. Data Ownership and Usage

6.1 Your Data

You retain all ownership rights to the data you input into SchoolOS. We do not claim ownership of your data.

6.2 Our Rights

You grant us a license to use your data solely for the purpose of providing our services, improving the platform, and generating anonymized analytics.

7. Service Availability and Support

7.1 Uptime Guarantee

We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime for Yearly and Custom plans, and 99% for Termly plans. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance.

7.2 Support

• Termly Plan: Email support
• Yearly Plan: Priority email and chat support
• Custom Plan: 24/7 priority phone and email support

8. Intellectual Property

SchoolOS, including all software, designs, logos, and content, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of our platform without written permission.

9. Termination

9.1 By You

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

9.2 By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for:

• Violation of these Terms of Service
• Non-payment of fees
• Illegal or fraudulent activity
• Actions that harm our platform or other users

10. Data Export and Portability

You have the right to export your data at any time. Upon account termination, we will provide you with your data in a standard format within 30 days, after which your data will be permanently deleted.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SchoolOS shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or revenue
• Service interruptions or errors
• Third-party actions or content

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold SchoolOS harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, violation of these terms, or infringement of any rights.

13. Modifications to Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time. We will notify users of significant changes to these Terms of Service at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved through good faith negotiations first, followed by arbitration in Port Harcourt, Nigeria if necessary.
