Getting Started with SchoolOS
Welcome to SchoolOS! This guide will walk you through everything you need to get your school up and running on our platform. Take it step by step, and you'll be managing your school like a pro in no time!
1. Purchasing & Activation
Step 1: Choose Your Plan
SchoolOS offers three pricing plans to suit different school needs:
- Termly Plan: ₦180,000 per term - Perfect for schools starting out
- Yearly Plan: ₦500,000 per year - Best value with 15% savings
- Custom Plan: Custom pricing - For schools with unique requirements
Tip: We recommend starting with a Termly plan if you're trying SchoolOS for the first time. You can always upgrade to Yearly to save money!
Step 2: Make Payment
Contact us to purchase your activation key:

Step 3: Receive Activation Key
After payment, you'll receive a unique activation key via email. It looks like this:
Important: Keep your activation key safe! You'll need it to set up your school account. Each key can only be used once.
2. First-Time Setup Wizard
Step 1: Visit SchoolOS
- Open your web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge)
- Go to: https://schoolosapp.com.ng
- Click on "Get Started" or "Sign Up"
Step 2: Enter Activation Key
- You'll see a page titled "Activate Your School"
- Enter your activation key exactly as you received it
- Click "Verify & Continue"
- The system will validate your key (this takes a few seconds)

Enter your activation key to get started
Your activation key was provided after purchase. It looks like: SCOS-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX

Step 3: Create Admin Account
Now you'll create your administrator account:
- Full Name: Enter the school administrator's name
- Email Address: Use a valid email (you'll verify this later)
- Phone Number: Nigerian format (+234...)
- Password: Create a strong password (minimum 8 characters)
- Confirm Password: Re-enter your password
- Click "Create Account"
Success! You've created your admin account. Next, let's set up your school profile.
3. School Profile Configuration
The setup wizard will now guide you through configuring your school's profile. This information appears on report cards, invoices, and throughout the system.
Basic Information
School Name
Full official name (e.g., "Grace International School")
School Motto
Optional (e.g., "Excellence in Education")
School Type
Select: Nursery, Primary, Secondary, or Combined
School Logo
Upload your school logo (PNG or JPG, recommended size: 500x500px)
Contact Information
School Address
Full physical address including street, city, state
Phone Numbers
Primary and alternate phone numbers
Email Address
Official school email (e.g., info@graceschool.com)
Website
Optional: Your school website URL
Note: This information will appear on all official documents including report cards, invoices, and receipts. Make sure everything is accurate!
4. Academic Calendar Setup
Critical Step! You MUST complete this before adding students or entering any academic data. This sets the foundation for your entire system.
Step 1: Set Current Academic Session
- Enter the academic session (e.g., "2024/2025")
- Set session start date (e.g., September 2024)
- Set session end date (e.g., July 2025)
Step 2: Configure Terms
For each term (First, Second, Third), set:
- Term Start Date: When the term begins
- Term End Date: When the term ends
- Vacation Dates: Mid-term breaks (optional)
Example Term Configuration:
First Term: September 9, 2024 - December 20, 2024
Second Term: January 8, 2025 - April 4, 2025
Third Term: April 22, 2025 - July 18, 2025
Step 3: Set Grading Scale
Define how scores convert to grades:

| D | 45 - 54 | Pass |
| F | 0 - 44 | Fail |
Step 4: Configure Assessment Pattern
Set how total scores are calculated:
Common Pattern:
- CA1 (First Continuous Assessment): 10 marks
- CA2 (Second Continuous Assessment): 10 marks
- Exam: 80 marks
- Total: 100 marks
Congratulations! Your academic calendar is set up. Now you can start adding classes, subjects, and students!

- Create Classes (Primary 1, JSS 1, etc.)
- Add Subjects (Mathematics, English, etc.)
- Add Teachers and assign them to subjects
- Add Students and assign them to classes
- Link Parents to Students
